Hot and Filthy— Some people just like their jazz that way. Few like it filthier than Le Chat Lunatique, a back-
room jazz quartet that reeks of speakeasy sweat, perfume and gin. But these cats are no dusty period piece. Le
Chat Lunatique gives bloody, glorious guts to standards like “Bei Mir Bist Du Schön.” and they're not afraid to
throw in an original mazurka, a gypsy waltz or a blithe, reefery arrangement of “House of the Rising Sun,” of all
things.

Le Chat Lunatique is releasing their first live recording this weekend, cheekily titled Puss in Bootleg . The set
was captured by freelance fiddler and sound maven Todd Farkas at a springtime gig at the District, which,
through my own blundering good luck, I happened to be at. This disc won't disappoint you. See Le Chat
Lunatique perform live on the same patio where it was recorded this Friday, Aug. 18, at the District (on the
Fourth Street Mall at Copper). I dare you not to dance.
